Dear Parents and Carers,
We are writing to you as we value the health and well-being of our staff, children and families. As you are aware the Coronavirus (Covid19) situation is escalating as we speak.
Firstly, we continue to monitor and receive daily updates from the government and continue to follow their advice. The chance of being in contact with the virus in the UK is currently moderate and the current specific advice for places of education is simply to ensure good hygiene practices.
We are reinforcing messages about good hygiene within the nursery, including hand washing when children arrive, before they go home, before they eat, after outdoor play and after using the toilet. We make sure children use tissues for coughs and sneezes. We ask you to ensure that your child washes their hands before leaving home in the morning. We also have hand sanitiser stations at the front of the building that we are encouraging parents and children to use upon entering and leaving the building.
At Rothley Park Kindergarten we are not aware of any of our families who have recently returned from travelling from countries such as China, Italy, Spain, France etc. If this were to happen, we would ensure that the family was “self-isolating” and having no contact with the nursery for 14 days.
We are also currently asking all parents to adhere to our wishes and ask if any child is to have:
* • a high temperature – feels hot to touch on chest or back.
* • a new, continuous cough – started coughing repeatedly.
* • a cold – a blocked or runny nose, sore throat, headache, sneezing.
We are, please, asking you as parents to keep children at home for 7 days should they develop any of these symptoms or until the symptoms cease.
If you have plans to travel abroad over the Easter holiday’s please share these with us so we can keep you up to date over that period.
You can find up to date information at:
Secondly, we would like to inform all of our parents, as shops seem to be struggling to receive day to day stock due to customers panic buying, that we will endeavour to stick to our ‘normal’ menus as much as we can. However due to substitutes being sent to us, we would from time to time have to change our menu slightly. We would grateful of your understanding on this matter.
We would like to thank you adhering to set guidelines and we shall continue to update you on any information should guidelines change.
