Welcome to the July 2013 Newsletter
We would like to welcome all of our new children and parents to Rothley Park Kindergarten.
We would like to wish all of our school leavers the very best of luck in September when they begin their next journey into school. We will miss you but please promise to come back and visit.
Full & Part Time Sessions
We offer full and part time sessions as and when required on availability for all children who are leaving the nursery for school and who are under the age of 5 years throughout the year and during school holidays.
Please speak to us in the office for more information.
Please could you inform the office of when you will be away on holiday. This will be very much appreciated.
Active Kids 2013 Sainsbury vouchers
We would like to thank you all for your support for helping us to collect the Active Kids 2013 Sainsbury vouchers. We have ordered our new equipment and will put it to great use.
FEEE (Free early education entitlement) is available to all children the term following their third birthday, for a minimum of 38 weeks per year. This is claimed by the setting throughout term time only. Each term can vary between 11 and 15 weeks. The deduction will be shown on your invoice each month. Please do not hesitate to see us in the office if you have any queries regarding your child’s funding.
To ensure the safety and welfare of children in our care we operate a personal mobile phone usage policy which stipulates that personal mobile phones cannot be used by parents, visitors or staff when in the presence of children, on the premises. All staff mobile phones are placed on silent or switched off and are kept in their lockers. Staff can only use their mobile mobiles within the restricted (staffroom) area. As a reminder ‘Phone Prohibited’ signs are displayed at the entrance of both nursery and the bungalow premises. A sign is also on display outside the nursery staff room. Our main priority is the safety of your children and we thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
Please can you ensure that your child has the appropriate medication at nursery in case of an emergency. If your child becomes unwell during the day and we have no medication, we are unable to provide the correct care.
This may lead to you being called from work to collect your child or to provide us with the appropriate medication. Please hand all children’s medication to a member of staff in room on arrival. At NO time should any medication be left in your child’s nursery bag.

6oz caster sugar
2 medium eggs
Butter cream mixture
4oz icing sugar

Cream together butter and sugar until pale and smooth. Add flour and eggs bit by bit and fold into the mixture. Spoon the mixture into cake cases and bake in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown. Gas mark 4. When cool carefully slice off the top of the cake and cut it into half to make wings.
Method of butter cream filling:
Cream together icing sugar and butter until smooth, a little warm water may need to be added if butter is cold.
Place a spoon of the butter cream filling on the base of the cake and carefully place the wings in a standing position to create your very own butterfly cake. To finish dust with a sprinkle of icing sugar.
