School Leavers
We would like to wish all of our school leavers the very best of luck in September when they begin their next journey into school. We will miss you but please promise to come back and visit. We wish you all well.
We offer full and part time sessions as and when required on availability for all children who are leaving the nursery for school and are under the age of 5 years throughout the year and during school holiday. Please speak to us in the office for more information.
Free Early Years Education Entitlement
FEEE is available to all children the term following their third birthday, for a minimum of 38 week’s per year. This is claimed by the setting and throughout term time only. Each term can vary between 11 weeks and 15 weeks. The deduction will be shown on your invoice each month. Please do not hesitate to see us if you have any queries regarding your child’s funding.
Summer Clothing
As the warm weather is approaching please can you provide sun cream and a sun hat clearly labelled with your child’s name. This will allow us to take your child outside to play in the sunshine. Unfortunately if your child has no sun cream of their own then they will have to stay inside. Thank you for your co-operation.
Summer Holidays
Please could you inform the reception when you will be away on holiday. This will be much appreciated. We hope you have a lovely time.

Activity of the Month Ginger Bread People

Ingredients
8oz Plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons of ground ginger
4oz of butter
3oz soft brown sugar
2 tablespoons golden syrup
To decorate
4oz icing sugar
Currant’s or pieces of glacier cherries
Gingerbread Man cookie cutter
Method
Pre heat oven to 180’C / 350’F or gas mark 4.
Sift the flour, baking powder and ginger into a mixing bowl.
Melt the butter, sugar and golden syrup in a saucepan. Leave the mixture to cool for a few minutes and the pour into the flour mixture. Stir it with a wooden spoon and then kneed it into a big ball with your hands.
Dust work surface and rolling pin with a little flour and then roll the dough out until it is about ½ cm ¼ inch thick. Use the cookie cutter to cut the people out. Repeat this process until all of the dough mixture has been used.
Transfer the people to a baking tray. Place on the middle shelf in the oven for 10 – 12 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Leave the people to cool down for a few minutes and then place onto a cooling rack.
Mix the icing sugar and water together and place onto the ginger bread people ready for the currants or cherries for decoration.
