Welcome

We would like to welcome all of our new children and parents to Rothley Park Kindergarten.

Parents Evening

On Monday 23 November we are holding a Parents Evening between 6.30pm and 9.00pm. All parents are welcome. Closer to the time the staff in each room will place a timetable on the door with your child’s name and the name of their key worker. Just add your child’s name against the time you wish to attend.

Free Early Education Entitlement

FEEE is available to all children the term following their third birthday, for a minimum of 38 week’s per year. This is claimed by the setting and throughout term time only. Each term can vary between 11 and 15 weeks. The funding hours will be shown on your invoice each month. Please do not hesitate to see us in the office if you have any queries regarding your child’s funding.

Your Child’s Learning Journey Folder

Our philosophy, at Rothley Park Kindergarten, is to ensure that every child in our care develops socially and intellectually in a happy, stimulating environment. Each child celebrates their experiences with the guidance of the Early Year Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS). We keep a Learning Journey Record of your child’s learning and development that links in with the EYFS.

We valued parents and carers taking their child’s folder home and sharing their child’s learning and development. Unfortunately, however, on many occasions, the Learning Journey Record, which is a working document, has been misplaced and, therefore, not returned or it and has been damaged or torn.

Due to the continued loss of these important working documents parents are now encouraged to browse through their child’s Learning Journey Folder at the nursery at any time, without having to take the folder home. When the time comes for your child to leave us we will present your child with their Learning Journey Folder at a Graduation Ceremony.

Children in Need

On Friday 13 November we are inviting the children to come into nursery dressed up in costume to help support Children In Need and we are asking for a minimum donation of £1 per child. The theme this year is ‘Be a Hero’, however, you can dress your child in anything to recognise the day. Thank you and we hope the children have fun.

Collection of Children from Nursery due to Illness

Please be assured that we only contact parents to collect their children when we consider it necessary and in the best interests of the child concerned and the nursery as a whole. There have been occasions when we are unable to contact or parents, after being called, have decided not to collect their child(ren). This places other children at risk and our staff under considerable pressure. For the safety of your child, other children and our staff’s health please collect your child when requested by the nursery, as the decision to call you will not have been taken lightly.

Christmas Parties

All children’s parties will be held in their own rooms on Wednesday 9th December. If your child does not attend nursery on the day of the party they are still welcome but parents must attend and take full responsibility for their children. Please no siblings this year due to the high volume of children already attending the Christmas parties. The parties are from 3.00pm to 4.30pm

Christmas 2015 Closing Times

On Thursday 24 December the Nursery will close at 2:00pm promptly and we re-open on Monday 4th January 2016 at 8:00 am. We wish all our children and parents/carers a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Happy Diwali

We would like to wish all of our parents and children a very happy Diwali on the 11 November, we hope you enjoy your celebrations.
